We are thrilled to announce that we will be starting our sessions at our new site, Hazel Wood, Jubilee road, near Mitcheldean at the end of this month.
As we embark on an exciting new chapter for HARE Forest School, we are filled with immense gratitude for the incredible people and organisations that have supported us along the way. Our journey to provide enriching, nature-based education for children would not have been possible without your unwavering support.
First and foremost, we extend our deepest thanks to Forestry England. Your permission to use the beautiful woodland for our sessions is invaluable. We eagerly anticipate the return of children's laughter echoing through the trees, a sound that signifies joy, learning, and growth in harmony with nature.
Our woodland has a rich history, once part of Gloucestershire County Council's Ecology Field Centre, with daily use by children, it is now managed by Oakraven Field Centre, which was formerly Plump Hill School. It is a beautiful full circle that we are now able to continue this legacy of education and stewardship. This continuation honours the past while paving the way for future generations to connect with nature.
A special thank you goes to Andy Moir, who runs Oakraven Field Centre. Andy, your support has been instrumental in helping our little project take off and find a new site. Your efforts in liaising with Forestry England and being a guardian of this woodland have made the growth of our project possible. Without your dedication and belief in our vision, we wouldn't be where we are today.
Our thanks also goes to Chris from Barton Tree Services who fitted and adjusted the ridgeline for our shelter.
We also want to highlight the incredible volunteer support we've received over the past few months. The dedication and hard work of our volunteers have been nothing short of immense. Seeing so many people come together, united by a shared goal and witnessing the positive impact of their efforts has been both moving and motivational. This week, thanks to their help, we lay the foundation for our new shed, a crucial step in providing a home for our tools and activities.
Our thanks extends to Parkend Beaver Lodge, whose generosity in giving us space to hatch our project provided the foundation and confidence needed to grow our community. Your support has been a cornerstone in our journey, enabling us to expand and successfully operate from two sites in the Forest of Dean.
And our thanks go to every parent/carer and child who has attended our sessions so far, and who have already booked on our upcoming sessions at our new site. We can't wait to meet you in the woodland, to share in the joy of discovery and the wonders of nature.
Thank you to everyone who has supported HARE Forest School CIC. Your contributions, whether through permissions, support, or volunteer work, or joining our sessions have been vital in bringing our vision to life. We look forward to continuing this journey with you, fostering a love for nature and learning in our community.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Charlie, Georgie, Susie and the HARE Team
