Children's Yoga Classes: Offerings

CHILDREN'S CLASSES

All my classes, whether yoga or other subjects, aim to develop focus, mindfulness, self-esteem and confidence and to reduce stress and anxiety.  I teach a variety of children's classes on Outschool, a platform offering lessons for children aged 3-18 years.  My classes include children and teen yoga (more on that below), song time, mindful art and learning about nature.

Children's Yoga Classes: Testimonials

My daughter is four years old and LOVED this class! She was engaged throughout and spent the rest of the day singing the little songs she’d learned and creating drawings inspired by this garden themed class. Miss Charlie’s demeanour is bright and inviting. There was never a dull moment - the theme was explored through a variety of poses and my daughter appreciated having opportunities to share her thoughts and experiences. We’re planning to take classes with Miss Charlie regularly!

HOW CAN YOGA HELP MY FAMILY?

Research shows that yoga and mindfulness have a hugely positive effect on our mental health, our emotional well-being and our physical health.

Yoga and mindfulness can help develop your child's focus and concentration, build their self-esteem and confidence, improve their health and fitness, improve behaviour, develop creativity and imagination, improve their sleep, build strength and balance and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

My classes are child-focused, non-competitive and non-judgemental.  Children are encouraged to join in, but are also able to rest or watch and join in when they are ready.  Classes promote mindfulness, enabling children to be present and become aware of their emotions, developing self-regulation.

In today's fast-paced world it is easy for children to become over-stimulated and overwhelmed.  This can cause behaviour issues and sleep problems.  Children will learn skills to help them manage the stressful aspects of modern life.  They will learn to recognise and manage emotions, build confidence and a positive self-image.

I have practiced yoga for over 20 years, and found that yoga and meditation transformed my well-being and helped me through really difficult times in my life.  I have also experienced how yoga and mindfulness developed my own children's well-being.

I love being able to teach these amazing life skills to children and families, and having the privilege of witnessing how this builds their self-esteem and resilience.  These are skills that serve children for their whole life.

Sessions may include:

Children's yoga postures, Movement, Partner yoga, Yoga games, Children's yoga stories, Art & creativity, Mindfulness exercises, Meditation, Breathing exercises, Growth Mindset, Gratitude practice, Relaxation, Positive affirmations.
